So it's a slowish day at work, and I have no motivation because I'll be on vacation Thursday through Monday. We're going to visit Bill's dad and he wants some help with decorating his new house. I was looking for ideas on the Nestie home board and came across a post about this website:
www.createsticksandstones.com. I love it! I've seen something (Google maybe?) similar that made any word into a photo collage jpg file. This site actually makes a matted and framed collage that you can hang on the wall. So neat! Here's their preview of one that I'd love to hang in our house: "The Proudfit Family"
The catch? It's $200. I can't decide if that is a deal or not. They say the size is 24"x39". So if I were to 1) take pictures myself (fun part!), 2) get them printed (some $$), and 3) get them custom matted and framed (could be $$$$$), would I be able to do it for less than $200? Joann's and Michael's seem to have framing sales every other week, so maybe I could do it myself for less. If nothing else, I love the idea of building a collection of photo-letters. It's the kind of project I get really in to because it helps me expand my focus to look at ordinary things in a new and creative way.
