I am forever indebted to Channel 7

Yup, It's true. I, Marcie Mouse*, am forever indebted to Channel Seven.

This occurred to me just now and I must admit I was surprised. I've always considered myself a bit of a Channel Ten girl myself. After all, I am addicted to Neighbours. Channel Ten has So You Think You Can Dance, NCIS, Law and Order, America's Next Top Model and of course The Simpsons.

Unlike the majority of Australia, I like Channel Nine too. Well, I like The Big Bang Theory, Ellen, The View and The Mentalist, which happen to be aired on Channel Nine.

Heck, I probably watch more of the SBS and ABC than Channel Seven!

But then today, I turned on the television and heard the most wonderful sound ever. The strains of 'Suicide Is Painless' by Johnny Mandel, the song known to most as simply the theme from M*A*S*H. Then I got thinking. M*A*S*H finished on the 28th of February, 1983.  That's twenty-six years ago. Seven years before I was even born.

And yet, I grew up watching M*A*S*H. The good people over at Channel Seven have been re-running it for my entire life. Were it not for them, not only would there be nothing worth while on television in the 5pm weekdays slot but I would never have discovered the wonder that is Hawkeye, Margaret, Klinger, Radar and all the gang at the 4077th.

As if M*A*S*H wasn't enough, Channel Seven also airs my favourite crime show EVER, Criminal Minds. Criminal Minds also happens to be the show that my favourite character of all time (and I must admit, my television character crush) inhabits, and his name is Doctor Reid.

And, for those two shows alone, I now officially owe Channel Seven hours of happiness.

And I also just wrote an entire blog entry based entirely around my television watching habits. Wow.

* Oh yeah right, I'm not posting my full name for all to see.
