got some catching up to do...

Last weekend was Easter, I went on an adventure with some friends. It involved waiting for 7 hours at the ferry terminal while they decided what to do about the stormy weather. Once again I was shown that waiting isn't so bad if you have good company and no firm plans.
After abandoning the wait, we went walking along a beach. The seafoam looked like an alien creature (and definitely was not green). I hadn't brought my camera.
Yay for stormy beaches followed by books and blankets and a fireplace. And yay for friends who can so wonderfully turn a wide-eyed, idealistic hope-crushing disaster into the perfect opportunity.

The next night, after another, more successful attempt at crossing the straight (although we almost didn't make it OFF the ferry that time!) we stayed in a YURT!!! It was almost the same size as my apartment :-S but circular and lovely with a fireplace and a skylight and we all agreed we could have lived there for awhile. We found happy planet and green & blacks for cheap at the local healthy food store and we played two rounds of mini-golf. I definitely need to make another trip this summer with friends for more island mini-golf.

This weekend has been sunny too. The kind of sunny that makes you excited for summer. The bewildering and new kind that makes you start planning for friends and fun. How soon before all the glowy, pie-in-the-sky hopefulness gets dashed and forgotten by the next round of grey and rain?
I went on a bike ride to the Museum of Vancouver. Never been! You should go. I should go back. Then we stopped at Granville Island for a snack on our way back. LOVELY!!!
This evening I rode my bike to a secret supper out with friends. LOVELY!!!
Did you know that you can use your bike to get places that aren't for work?

Today I flew a plane. I was in the plane at the time; don't worry, so was the pilot.

easter, storm, island, bicycles, vacation, sun, flying
