Whee!

It's been awhile...I think a long while, but I can't be arsed to check. So I shall just update the past week. Starting with last weekend.

It was a long weekend in which I didn't do much. but that's okay, Sometimes I really enjoy that. I feel I would make a good hermit. But I digress. On Sunday I did go to a wedding. It was the wedding of my former best friend. I had known this girl since I was one and a half years old. We were best friends all throughout our childhood and teen years. We drifted apart about 5 years ago...coincidentally (or not?) when she started getting serious with her now husband. Anyways our parents are friends (they have potluck dinners together with 3 other couples) and were invited to the wedding, as was I. My mother talked me into going (I didn't want to go because I wouldn't know anyone, except my parents and their friends, and maybe some people I went to high school with - who I obviously don't talk to anymore either). It was a very nice wedding. Nice ceremony (although I was surprised by the choice of minister - she's Jewish though not religious or observant at all, although her father is very much so and her husband is Catholic - I would have thought a Justice of the Peace would be more acceptable to her side, but it was some kind of minister, I don't remember from what church, he was not a Priest though) and a nice reception. I was seated with people who I went to high school with, however since I'm not friends with them anymore (and they were all friends with each other) it was pretty awkward. For me anyways, they all had a good time, I sat there listening to them talk about things they all do together. There was one girl there who I was good friends with in high school (her and the bride are best friends, they went to grade school together - we all went to high school together) but she was a bridesmaid, so I only talked to her a little bit. Anyways, I hung out with my parents for most of it. Eventually we left. The whol experience made me sad and nostalgic for when the bride and I were best friends. I won't say better times, because I love who my friends are now and I'm fairly content in life, but I'm still allowed to miss her. We shared SO much together, it's weird seeing her with a life now I know nothing about, and I'm not at all a part of.

Moving on...the work week was okay. I was excited about who won American Idol. Work was the same. Busy busy busy which drives me insane. But no problems. I made my insurance kpo (sales goal) for April which was good. If I didn't make it I would have gone on an action plan (it would have been my third month in a row not making it) but now I don't have to worry about that. Well for another two months anyways. And I am going to be quitting the beginning of August, so I won't have to worry about it at all anymore.

Last night I went out for a friend's birthday. It was quite fun. I was totally the odd one out, especially when everyone else talked about mutual friends who I didn't know of, but I enjoyed listening, and we talked about general things I could be a part of too. It was a backyard barbeque (the weather is finally nice!!) and the person hosting it (my friend's best friend) is an event coordinator so it was very lovely. We had burgers, hot bods, veggies and dip, salads and chips. And ice cream cake for dessert. It was byobb (bring your own booze and burgers) so I brought two beers (my limit because I had to drive home) and a veggie burger (I'm not vegetarian, but it was a single burger in my freezer, so it made it easy to bring, and I enjoy veggie burgers every so often). And I also had a hot dog because there were extras.

Today I am going to my sister's for some stamping and hanging out. Tomorrow my sister is going in for a c-section and I'm going to be an aunt!!! It's very exciting! My whole family is uber excited (it's the first baby, first grandchild, first great-grandchild, on either side actually). We're all going to the hospital tomorrow morning to wait for the good news (god willing and knock on wood). I will take pictures and promise to post them tomorrow night of my new nephew (yes, we know it's a boy).

More later! Ciao!
