so my finnish exam is tomorrow...
So hello yet again...this weekend has been fairly good for the most part..i decided to skip basketball practice on Firday and say that i had an extra finnish lesson before my exam (that was my reason so i could skip it) but truthfully i am just getting sick of basketall and i am very glad that it is comng to an end after the Sweden tournament (which i leave for on Wednesday night). Instead of going to practice i decided to hangout with Hanna, Anna, and Hanna's siblings (Linna and Ian..they got to Finland on Thursday afternoon so we showed them around and tookt hem out to eat for 3 hours and then took them back home and put them to bed cuz of jet lag...it will kill ya every time.). But yeah so after we got them put to bed we hung out and waited for Hanna's mom to come back to the apartment so we could leave and go hang out in the city. We were planning on going to Alko at 9:30 when her mom got home but on our way we asked someone what time it closed and they said 9 so there went that idea. So we went to McDonalds instead to get soem ice cream and hang out for a bit and when we got there Law and Order was on tv...it was very exciting even though we couldnt hear it Anna thought that we both were crazy but whatever. Anyways i got pissy for no reason in the middle of the conversation..well really not no reason just everything came together and i needed a litle time by myself so i just left..but being as good of friends as they are they called me and talked to me and then a few minutes latter they met me at the metro station and then we just rode on the metro from one end to the other and then back again and we just sat there and talked and goofed around and then i felt a bit better. But after that we took Anna home and then i walked hanna to her train and then i went and waited for my bus (i was abotu 10 mintues early)...only my bus came 20 minutes late!!! it sucked....i was standing in the semi cold and there were these two drunk women and then one jsut started yelling "where is the damn bus...where the hell is a taxi..what is fuck in going on...ext..." all this is in finnish mind you (shows you what i have learned this year). she did that for abotu 5 mintues till the bus came it took so much strength to keep from laughing but these two teenage boys 18 or 19 they jsut kept loking at each other and laughing when she was yelling. Oh it was alrigth except for the whole waiting 20 extra minutes for my bus (i am at the 2nd bus stop too..so not to sure what happened). When i got home it was about 12:20 and Laura was having a team night at our hosue for her Junior Cheerleading team that she coaches..that was interesting 20 finnish speaking girls in our tiny house and they all slept there also..I think that iw as the only one that had my own bed everyone else slept on the floor and in laura's bed or on the couch and and laura and Eeva (laura's friend) had to sleep in Malla's bed with Malla...lol...yeah you could barely walk in the house without stepping on a girl once they were all lying down.
so Saturday: i was gunna play volleyball but they cancelled it cuz they were all busy moving someone. so i stayed at home all day and did basically nothing..yeah that was a bad day iw as gunna do my homework and then i just never started it so yeah fun fun.
Sunday: Well is atarted the day off at 7:30 am and by 8:30 am i had left to bike to Helsinki (Itäkeskus) with Ninna to go to church and meet some of the people that i play vollyeball with (so yes i went to a mormon church service...my second church service all year). So yeah it didnt begin to well cuz she gave me the wrong directions to begin with and when we finally found each other it went good from there until we actualy go in the city and turned the direction opposite of where we were suppsoe to be goin and got lost again. So we had to stop and ask some old people sitting outside smoking ad packing a car for directions. But anyways we biked a little over 20 km on the way to the the church which was lovely cuz then i was just a bit sweaty....yuck!!! :P Then i stayed for three hours of church (the actual service, a break down group thinger which was for young adults, and then a womans meeting thinger where they talked about being humble)...thatwas fun after that i was planning on going ot anna's to burn cds but one i forgot the cds and two anna's dad and brother were sick so that plan got cancelled so since iw as int eh city center and didnt know how to get home by bike i took the train. So yeah i get on the first train and i know that i have to pay for my bike sp when the ticket person got on even though i already had my ticket for me to travel bought he was asking if that bike was mine and if i knew i had to pay for it and what not but this was all in finnish and i just kept saying "minä en puhu suomea...i dont speak finnish" but really i did understand what he was saying i just didnt want to pay and i was hoping that he would go away cuz he didnt speak any english but he didnt leave he got out his littel thinger and showed me how much i had to pay so since i didnt have any money on me i had to get off the train. And i waited for the next train abotu 15 mintues later and got on that and when the ticket man got on this time he spoke a bit of english so i jsut came out and asked him first this time if since ihad my travel card i had to pay for my bike and sicne he only spoke a tiny bit og english he was like..."no no nothing",..it was very nice cuz i should of had to pay 1.80 for it...hehe I WIN!!!!
