the premise, kind of, especially before season five A burned spy helps others in need in the Miami area while trying to get his job back. He's also trying to repair his relationships with his mother and...um...girl friend, for lack of a better word.
the characters
Michael Westen conscious, thrifty spy DIY ex-CIA spy that likes to narrate his life and techniques in the second person
his team:
Fiona Glenanne Michael's once and future girlfriend; ex-Irish Republican Army (actual factions and duties not known); fond of direct methods, guns (using them and selling them illegally) and chemical compounds that explode (Note: around the time of this episode, she's actively dating Michael)
Sam Axe Michael's Navy SEAL friend from his Army/CIA days; in addition to helping Michael out, has relationships with multiple women and a fondness for alcohol (more so than the other characters)
Jesse Porter former CIA field agent, sent to desk work after his tactics in the field are deemed too risky; burned by Michael while Michael's trying to get his own job back; ironically, seeks Michael and team to get his job back
Madeline Westen Michael's hypochondriac mother that sometimes helps his team (and the reason why he's even a spy in the first place, but that's another episode)
the episode #52 (408) "When There's Smoke," first aired July 29, 2010
plot synopsis While Michael and Jesse are looking for a coded Bible that might lead Michael to who burned him (while Jesse is thinking the Bible might lead him to who burned him-I know, it's complicated), Fiona and Sam decide to take a gig protecting a guy, Christian, his lithium-ion battery and his wife, Sarah, from kidnappers at a formal social event. But before all four of them can get to the event, the kidnappers, a pair of brothers and their lackeys, kidnap Sarah. Fiona elects to go with Sarah. While the rest of the team tries to get Christian from doing something stupid that gets Sarah and Fiona killed, Fiona works on the inside to relay information and sabotage the kidnappers' plan. (This includes blinking out a distress message in Morse code over an internet video stream, starting a fake fight with Sarah to steal the kidnappers' phone and one of their guns, burning part of her dress and a bicycle tire to send smoke through an air ventilation system, and tricking one of the kidnappers so she can drink enough vodka to siphon it into a light bulb, making it explode.)
In the end, Sarah's life is spared with duct tape around one of the kidnappers and a makeshift bomb Fiona makes under the kidnappers' noses. Fiona is rescued by Sam, and the story (which technically ends with the continuation of the coded bible story) ends with Michael and Fiona reuniting in his loft, kissing.
