Hmm... To do Today. Aikido this morning. I'm not sure who's teaching. That's always a little scary right now, because I want to make sure training is safe. Anyone other than Sensei might let things get out of hand. Of course, I know when to sit out if I need to. This evening we're going to Bruce's house for a barbecue. They're moving to Montana. That's pretty adventurous. I hope we can keep in touch with Bruce occasionally, at least through email. He's quite the entrepreneur. He could be a really good resource.
Sensei's actually going to be gone for two weeks (in Japan). The last two weeks of summer school. Ugh. Oh well. She's paying us a lot extra. I can't really complain too much. Apparently, Karen lied to me about when payday is (i.e. was confused). Payday is next Friday. So, another week of poorness. That's okay. We're kind of getting used to it. I would like to give Jane a gift for her priesting, and Jessica a gift for her graduation. Maybe we can swing it. I would have liked to go to Jess's open house, especially since Tom was going to go. The rainy camping was already scheduled, though.
Dan and I made a list of people to contact to show our business plan to. They're asking for 50 (those higher up in the organization, via Dan and Krista - Yes, another guy named Dan. This will all be very confusing.). We came up with 20. We could have a few more if we included family, but we're not ready to bring our family in yet. We'll see how this goes. They're pushing a lot of things (going to functions, buying CDs, buying the phone service, etc.). I think we're going to have to do this our own way, on our own terms, at our own pace. We can certainly learn from other successful people, but we don't need them running our lives. That's a pretty strong statement. They're not really trying to run our lives. They just have A LOT of advice, and I don't think we need to take every piece of it.
Oh yeah. Back to the to-do list. It would be nice to get SOMETHING done on the house. Although, Dan also needs to mow the lawn. Badly. Maybe we could start painting the trim. I doubt we'll get my Dad to put it in this weekend, though. Maybe I could call him. I don't think it will take long. All we really need him for is measuring and supervising. Dan can do all the bending down, etc. I'll give him a call. If not that, then maybe we could paint the stairs and install the treads.
