So today in a class, I identified the moment in my life that I realized I’m culturally Deaf. Immediately after I was lectured by a hearing person that I’m not Deaf and cannot identify as such because of a set of criteria created by a hearing person that I did not completely meet because I married a hearing man. I’ve never been so pissed off. I’ve never had my identity questioned by the Deaf community so why and how dare this person do so
