I could be wrong, but I don't think there is any specific thing that causes low fluid levels; it just happens. Be sure to be drinking PLENTY of water, of course, I've heard that helps. Try not to beat yourself up, hon, being pregnant and giving birth is hard enough without feeling guilty about something you *think* you could have done...

I go back to the doc tomorrow for an u/s to check the fluids so I'll be sure and ask him what causes the fluid to be low. . if anything causes it that is. .

I drink so much water, and liquids its not even funny. . i always have 2 bottles of water in the freezer so when I want them they are nice and cold, when its empty, I refill each one. . i refill each one 2 or 3 times daily plus drink juices. . . .

i'm just nervous and scared and its so hard not to be.

I know it's very hard not to be so nervous and scared...hell I'm having my second baby in a few weeks and am just as nervous as I was the first time around :) How's hubby/SO handling all of this? Is he being supportive, letting you cry on his shoulder and vent if you need to? Get yourself a good support person and hang on tight babe. :)

I agree with the above poster... you're 37wks, so he's safe and you'll be fine, he'll be fine... just relax and try not to stress about it. Think positive happy thoughts, cause stress is bad for you and for baby! *hugs*

you sound like my hubby! he tells me to try not to worry so much because it will just make the stress worse!
he just doesnt understand how worried I am though. its times like this, I wish i could make him preggy for one day so he knows how worried/stressed/tired I am

My SO is so nervous, too. I think I'll be comforting him when the time comes!

my hubby tells me that he doesnt think he'll be able to hold my hand while they are doing the operation because he hates the site of blood. he almost passed out earlier this month when I took a horrible fall and had blood pouring out of my head!
he says "I'll hold your hand but I'll probably be laying on the floor!"

I have to laugh at this...my husband passed out when I took the bandages off of HIS toe after he had a toenail fixed...he was with me for my c section and walked AROUND my body to see our son. He later told me that he's never seen so much blood in his entire life...I was so shocked he didn't pass out, he said that seeing Gabriel made the blood worth it ;) (though it does remind me of the "friends" episode when Rachel is in labor and Ross hurts his hand and wails "YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS HURTS!!!!!" ah ha ha ha)

The instructor at the newborn parenting class told my husband to just plant his feet on the ground, hold on the stool and don't move! lol
