4chan.
Normally a hive of villainy and scum
Tonight, some guy made a post about sitting on his front porch, staring at a street light and thinking about everything that's wrong with your life. The result was an absurd thread that consisted of equal parts people bawing about their lives, and other members of Anon supporting them and giving advice where they could.
I joined in, tripfagged myself, even made up an email for people to use to communicate with once the thread died. Hell, I even named the OP Bawhero and helped spawn the only meme that, in my recollection of 4chan history, has helped people. Numerous people thanked me for listening and talking to them.
It is marked 4/2/09 the day the ice around /b/s heart melted and the goodness peaked through. I like to think that I helped at least one person, but it does me alot of good to see that even the internet hate machine has a heart. And cries... Not one troll in the whole time I was there. And I was there from post number 3 to the 404ing of 2 whole threads.
I hope to make this a weekly event. If at least one person can live a better life as a result of all of this, then I'll be satisfied that I helped.
