Walking with her in the park, her smiling lighting up the darkness around us; we were watching the kids play ahead of us. Whispering to each other, still a little apprehensive because of what had gone on earlier in the day, but none the less still smiling. You can't help but smile when she's smiling back at you.
The afternoon was eye opening and we may not be totally over it but we're working through it. We've realized that we're both insecure about certain things within our relationship and that we'll never get over them unless we talk about them. It's the only way this will work.
Leaving the park I scooped up Antonio and she did the same to Arianna, they were both just about ready to collapse. We got ourselves and the kids some food and headed back to the apartment -- oh, I haven't thanked you, Eric, for opening up your home to us, thank you -- we all ate and then Amanda said goodnight to the kids and I went to get them cleaned up and ready for bed. I kissed the kids goodnight, never getting tired of the bendicion Papi that I hear every night.
Now the kids are tucked in and asleep and Amanda and I have the rest of the night ahead of us...
And the morning when the kids jump into bed and curl around us in the empty spots to fall asleep again. Some of the best mornings I've ever had.
