Update on life - ramblings

Oct 23, 2011 19:46

Its been a long while since I've posted so I thought I should do a little update for those of you who might care. Health-wise I've been doing okay - I have another round of blood tests to do once I'm off of this round of Cipro - for disease unknown. It was simpler to just take this than do a biopsy to figure out what horrible little nasties are swimming around my intestines. My liver - while irritated - and in the beginning of NASH is actually not too bad. The ultrasound showed just a hint of inflammation. I had been freaking out over the diagnosis but after having a conversation with my doctor I'm doing much better. Blood sugar was kind of high - I'm pre-diabetic. I know that I can work on that though and take my metformin faithfully and eat better to combat it. I really don't want to be considered diabetic. Weight has stayed the same -as in exactly the same over the last three months. It's surprising to me how few calories I actually burn - I'm not eating a lot and I'm maintaining so guess what that means. Yep. Same weight. I'd love to move around more but I've been exhausted and the fibromyalgia makes it very difficult to do ANYTHING. I do walk some every day but I'd love to do some swimming and maybe even a little tennis from time to time.

On the home front things are good for the most part. My new husband and I are getting along great - we're very close and I'd like to think our marriage is a happy one. We're struggling with money a little bit - but we have enough to get by so I can't really complain. It was James' birthday a few days ago - he turned 24. I think he feels old now. Lol. I'm four years older than him so I kind of want to smack him - just a little bit. =)

We adopted a Papillon named Eva. She's cute as a button. Her tongue is too big for her mouth and sticks out the front all of the time. Its hilarious. Her ears are giant and she really does look like a little butterfly dog. Of course when we adopted her we didn't realize she'd been badly abused, and also has a barking problem, and really bad teeth. But we're doing the best we can to show her love, and discipline that doesn't come from physical pain. We've been working on the barking issue and she's doing much better. I'm pretty impressed. Her teeth are simply awful - we will have no choice but to get her a full dental as soon as we can afford to do so. Her breath is LETHAL!

Socially I'm making new friends and reaching out when I otherwise wouldn't - both for my sake and for James. We actually got an invitation to a Halloween party that we are both excited about. I hope that we'll be able to make new friends who turn out to be more than mere acquaintances.

Spiritually I'm kicking ass. My faith is completely renewed and I'm so happy to once again be walking with the Lord. I am so blessed to have Him in my life. I love talking to Him when I'm upset. It always makes me feel better.

Anyway my hubster wants to hang out so I'm going to go for now. More later. =)
