Plot-bunnies: action flicks

I have a couple of action flick type fics that I'd like to see:

In several recent action movies there have been these chase scenes which take place through apartment complexes. I'm not talking about the hallways or public areas either, they go through windows and kitchens and living rooms and bedrooms and all, disturbing various families.

I always wondered in those films why didn't any of the residents suddenly point a gun at the agents and accuse him of breaking and entering.

I would adore to see it especially if they went through the apartment of the poor grad student who is only there on a dig and the two chaser and chasee disappear... Bond goes to question and suddenly finds out his old mentor is there... which is not good for him as he was only supposed to see the guy in another 30 years for the new student centennial check up

Exactly! Bond gulps nervously, and Adam raises an eyebrow, and everyone else looks confused.

The problem with those scenes is that they assume that only the main characters (good or bad) are seriously dangerous. It implies that the world is a lot simpler than it really is. Coincidences do happen, more often than not, and they can get you into all sorts of trouble when you are acting like the big bad and then stumble across someone else who is that much more dangerous than you and you've just pissed them off.

yes! we must have the eyebrow of doom!

and Bond would just say something like "have you seen a white male, tall..."
and Adam (or what name he would be using) would interrupt and say: " about 6.3, brunette with a birthmark on his right hand and a scar on his left brow?"

"Uhm, yes "

"Nope, doesn't ring a bell"

To which Bond would reply, "okay then" and when questioned later just say that he had from a reliable source that that men was not someone to be pissed of and that agent 005 and his target were very likely dust in the wind...

While thinking that "Matthew" really did look well, and maybe the original M might have a point about retiring... those new agents don't know the dangers that the world really presents

and i agree the guys are chasing rooftops in Mexico city there is a chance that he is going to get into a gang's apartment or crash a game of poker he really didn't want to interfere

Heh. And M would question his report and generally be deeply suspicious. Bond would finally cave enough to say, Look, it doesn't have to do with national security unless we make it, and we should really write off 005 as having died from stupidity. M would consider this and nod, because she didn't get to the position she was at by provoking unnecessary conflicts, and sometimes you just had to trust in your agent's discretion

I love the dying from stupidity and I am sure that spech about taking too many risks from 007 would be both ironic and a great warning about what really took place with 005.

I had never seen the hitman comic, I think I will read some of it this weekend! thanks for the rec

And M probably calls him on it, telling 007 that he takes more risks than 005 ever did. And 007 looks his perfect suave self and points out that, unlike 005, he never gets himself into trouble he can't get himself back out of.

which in turn would make M even more curious about what sort of trouble 005 managed to get himself into, but since Bond isnt talking she cant do anything but try to find out throught backtracking his and 005 steps... and all MI6 can find is poor UK grad student who at the time of the chase had been having a beer and friendly poker game with some of his local friends
