Today was awsome... I only fear that it means something bad is around the corner, but for now I'm reveling in it. HAHA!
First... mom and I went out for lunch to the salad place. They have the best soup ever. Today was Mushroom soup.... and damn.. I dont even like mushroom soup and this stuff was a mouthgasm.
Next we went to Dahlal internationale and I tried on a ton of really expensive costumes. I ended up finding an affordable bra and belt set. (under 200 bucks woowhoo!) The bra fits almost perfectly (straps need to be made shorter, and cups pulled together a bit... but thats normal) The belt is about 6 inches too small, but it's fine. I'm going to close the gap with corset style lacing and sew a bunch of huge crystals on the edges. Instead of hiding the gap, I'll call attention to it, and stick it on one hip. It's silver.. like everything I own.. black or silver. Well.. now I'm not getting anything for my birthday thats for sure.
At class tonight Lauren had me stand up front and be Vanna Booty, so I could get used to the new faces in class. Next Monday is the first day I sub, and damned if we didnt JUST start a new group of ultra beginners.
After beginner class, Lauren and I showed them what the finished choreo looked like, and some older lady came up to me and asked if I did private lessons. She practically BEGGED me to let her be my first client. Um.. cool? So.. being the good student I am.. I said no, I dont teach anything I just assist. Lauren said I was soooo ready, and that I'm the only person in town she would trust to refer her privates to. She apparently doesnt have time and has to turn people away. I however do have time... and well... Wow what an ego boost! I actually get to teach and make money and everything.
She told me I should charge $25 an hour. Which is about right for private lessons. woowhoo!
I'm actually worth money now!
Also, Lauren, apon my suggestion, brought in a big old pile of costumes so the intermediates who will be in the show could see what proper costuming looked like. All her stuff is freakin pretty as hell. She also brought in her daughters Neckelmann's costume. Now her daughter is about my size, and DAMN that thing fit like a dream. Now I know what I want for x-mess. They can make them in any color combo you can imagine. *drools* I've always thought about them, but thought they might look cheap in person. OMG OMG OMG it was so pretty and light and sparkly. Made my new one look a bit wussy and sad. *sniffle*
Maybe the money I get from subbing can go toward it. Yeah that would be great.
