There really are no words to describe how brilliant this is. The characterizations and the further development of Haymitch's backstory fit perfectly within THG story yet add so much to an enjoyably tolerated (if not genuinely liked) figure. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and applaud you whole-heartedly.

BTW, I have never read the book thief, but will now because your interpretation on that author's style has me intrigued.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. :D

The Book Thief is wonderful. Usually I'll find things in books that I like and dislike, but I honestly believe The Book Thief is flawless. The writing is amazing (and a lot better than my imitation, for sure) and the story is so thoughtful. After you read it, you feel like you understand humanity a little more by recognizing how confusing we are.
