The Wanted Experience
Wanted to do a whole "My History with The Wanted" but it's so late I'll just post on the concert.
YES I WENT TO THEIR GIG BITCHES! We (Jess & !) have been wanting to go but we only bought the tickets last week cause I was counting my hari raya money. We got standing pen B tickets (pen A was sold out, idekw, pen B was Jay-biased). Jess didn't want standing initially but I MADE HER. I don't regret it and I hope she doesn't too but I doubt it since she's not as tall as me to see well. Even my vision was limited.
OT! When we reached the standing pen area, I realised that we were like the animals in a pen. LIKE A PIG PEN! All squashed up in a fenced up area. It was a moment of revelation.
Pre-concert
So we met at 4.30pm (supposed to be at 4pm but you know me) to queue. The line was already so long stretching to the back of EXPO's Max Pavillion. I think some of those people who were at the autograph session early were already there. I missed the autograph session, btw. I was wearing my baju kurung from madrasah and my ticket was with Jess, so, no, no autographs.
So we were chilling on the sidewalk listening to the vibrations from the rehearsal which could be somewhat heard when all of a sudden, people started standing and running in front. Till now I don't know why. But everyone left their leftover food wrappers and drinnks on the floor and I did too and I feel so guilty and sorry for the cleaner but there was no rubbish bin nearby. Then we were squashed up with lots of people with little personal space, hot air, sweating. It was chaos. Mostly because people didn't know what was happening and trying to see what was going on and I think the front people were getting squashed and shoutingscreaming for people to move backwards, and no, they were not going to move backwards but the doors weren't opening and it was still half an hour to 7:30pm when the concert was scheduled to start.
The only shining moment during that period was everyone singing Glad You Came together.
The gig
When we got in the pen, we were about 6 people away from the front row. Or 8. But the people in front were so tall! Poor Jess. And me. At the start, there was this girl who climbed on a guy's back and the girls in front of her who are infront of us and the girls behind us were screaming at her to get down. It was vicious but she was blocking a whole lot of people.
This was the Manila setlist which I think is pretty much the same.
Their first few songs weren't really clear to me. Not sure if it was the sound system or a thousand and more girls screaming at the same time but it was a lot of jumping and getting warmed up. I WAS ON A JAY BIAS SIDE! AND SIVA!
I have to tell you. My first The Wanted love was and will always be Nathan Sykes but recently Jay Mcguiness (I LOVE THEIR NAMES! I JUST... IT'S SO SEXY) has been slowly stealing my heart and today he has claimed all of it. <3 I love that beautiful angel with curly locks, sexy stubble and deep-ocean green-blue(?) eyes.
And I have to tell you that I barely notice Siva among the band members but today, TODAY has changed how I look at Siva. That man is an adonis! I mean he looks as good as his photographs AND EVEN BETTER! When he wasn't singing, he's always smiling and really, really that man is out of this world. I can't believe I used to think that he couldn't compare to 1D's Zayn Malik but, no, the truth is, Zayn Malik couldn't compare to him! I've seen many less groomed Zayn lookalikes but never a Siva lookalike. I also love how his eyes are small that I can imagine that he's looking at me when he's singing! That is a compliment, okay.
Oh, and I had total eye sex with Jay. Sometimes I get so distracted with Jay that I almost forget to check out Nathan's awesome solos. I LOVE JAY I DON'T KNOW HOW ELSE TO SAY IT. HE IS SO SEXY. I want to steal pictures of the gig from tumblr but I don't know the photo-sharing policy off-site there and it's not watermarked. And I'm at a state where the only camera I have is a polaroid. Which I brought. There were 5 films left.
Jay was wearing the TW varsity jacket from fans/BT/idk which said MCGUINESS at the back! With a Star Wars Starbucks-parody tank underneath. That boy is such a geek. <3 At one point, one of the boys, Max, I think, was pointing out the wacky signs and took one which said something along the lines of "Get Naked" AND MAX TOOK OFF HIS SHIRT! Which I almost missed but I caught his bare back. Which Jess totally missed because everyone was towering her which is sad because I think Max is her favourite. Then, Tom and Jay both took off their jackets (and shades for Tom) soon after too. Nothing as close to being topless but, well, more flesh for us to see! ;P They prolly also took it off because it was a bit warm there. I thought it would be cooler since it was so cold during BEAST's concert at the same venue. I, regrettably, wore a thick top!
For the Coldplay medley set, Tom played the electric guitar, Siva the acoustic, Nathan was on keyboard and Max on guitar too. And Jay was just doing his adorkable dance OMG I LOVE HIM. And after a while he went down through the center strip between pen A and B andandand I'M NOT EVEN CLOSE ENOUGH TO TOUCH THE MANSLUT WHO KISSED SO MANY GIRLS JUST TODAY ALONE (on cheeks or lips depending on how lucky you are) WHO I JUST HAD EYE SEX WITH. DISAPPOINT. But, yeah, just waited for him to get back in front of me (on stage) for more eye sex. ;P
See, how I hardly mentioned Nathan? I've got it bad for McGuiness! He was awesome, of course. Shiok sendiri in an entertaining way. So passionate when singing and then he'll have all the awkward dances and HAVE FAN SERVICE WHICH I DIDN'T GET DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU FELL OUT FAVOUR, SYKES! But in all honesty, he was really sweet. Making faces at the cameras. Actually all of them were really sweet. Jay and Siva tried to sing to the cameras when they could and omg, excuse me, I just had a flashback of Siva looking devastatingly handsome. I was directly behind one of the cameras so I wasn't sure if he was singing to it or singing to me but, of course, I'll think that he was singing to me... I feel so fluttery now.
There was a girl in front with a "I was lost till I found TOM" sign and after awhile he noticed and pointed looking all excited and I spazzed (even though it wasn't my sign) and the girl with the sign spazzed too! Yayy random stranger fangirl moment!
For Heart Vacancy, they picked a girl to go up on stage and of course it wasn't me who wasn't squashed around the perimeter of the pen (can't stop thinking about pens. Like, slaughter pens...). Lucky girl was hugged by the boys MORE THAN ONCE. Jay kissed her on the lips. And she had her arms around Siva and Jay's waist at one point. Her hand was prolly closer to their butts since she was as short as they were tall. I'm so sad I didn't get to touch the boys at all! What would Jay's hands felt like? (If I ever read this in the future, I might question my sanity now)
I love how during certain slower songs I'd just want to listen to the boys sing and not sing along like the more upbeat songs and somehow the people around me seemed to have the same idea and I could hear them truly singing live and it was like magic.
I have no idea why I feel no connection to Nathan other than his solos.
I'm sad that I don't even have pictures of the gig except of a polaroid with Jess at the end of it.
I don't know what to write about Max. He was his usual kooky, smouldery self. Who TOOK OFF HIS SHIRT!
THE CONCERT WAS TOO SHORT! It ended at 9:30 thereabouts and like a fool, I was hoping that they might come back out. But they didn't and Jess was pulling me out and I MISS THE BOYS ALREADY I NEED THEM BACK IN MY LIFE AGAIN!
Now, I'm going to bed, plugged in with The Wanted and relieving the gig.
