Television is dangerous
I don't usually post without posting art, fic or vids. However, recent events have forced me into having a bit of a disgruntled ramble about the world of the television series.
I have come to the conclusion that investing in a television series is a very risky move. Or more specifically, investing in a character or couple. It would be a lot safer to watch as a non-fandom participating, normal viewer, rather than an obsessed fan. But (until things go bad) it would be a lot less enjoyable. Supporting a character and couple and really investing in them is enjoyable - spending hours reading fanfic about them, making icons of them etc. But of course when things go bad, it's a truly horrible feeling...

This ramble stems from the shocking events on Prison Break regarding the wonderful character of Sara Tancredi played by the amazing Sarah Wayne Callies. The death of Sara Tancredi is truly devastating, the way it was done: horrific and disappointing, and the effect I expect it to have on the show: detrimental. I haven't actually watched the episode because it's just to horrible and I'm upset enough as it is, but I read about it. It is so upsetting because Michael and Sara were one of my favourite ships ever and over the past few months, definitely the couple I had become most invested in. They were one of those rare couples on a show written and portrayed so delicately and beautifully, even with few (romantic) scenes - somehow that made them more magical. Because when they did finally have a scene, it meant so much and you knew it would be brilliant.
I shall not ramble about this for too much longer, but it is so tragic and I really don't think that I can handle watching the show anymore - especially seeing Michael's reaction which I know will be utterly devasting to see (even though I'm positive Wentworth will act it perfectly). It's even more horrible because this was the one show which I had complete faith in, not to do anything stupid and betraying to the fans. Plus now it is very sad to make/view/read fanfiction, art and videos of Sara or Michael/Sara.
My other favourite couple is Brooke and Lucas of One Tree Hill. And after everything bad which happened with them (at least there was no death... I better not have jinxed that lol) I truly enjoyed becoming, more recently yet definitely no less, dedicated to Michael and Sara. They being a coupe who I, perhaps foolishly, didn't think anything terrible would happen to (kinda ironic). Not like how it has anyway. I just believed in the show.
