Valentine's morning. Maraich expected it to be a nice enough day. But when he woke up and found a string tied to his finger that he couldn't remove he knew he'd be dealing with some sort of virus.
He didn't know what to expect, so first things first... He shuffled the kids off to the neighbor's apartment. The wad of money he gave them as compensation helped alleviate him of any guilt - it was Valentine's for them too, after all, and no doubt the couple had their own plans.
So, with the kids safely tucked away and the dog locked in the guest room, he stood in the middle of his living room, ready to experiment. He grabbed the string and yanked it. It didn't budge from his finger, but it also didn't seem difficult to move around.
With a firm grip he swung it from side to side. No luck. No matter how he pulled didn't break nor run out of string. It didn't appear to have any purpose.
He knew better than to trust anything from the community, though.
After experimenting, he went to check the community and was surprised to find Feliciano having quite a bit of trouble with his string. It didn't take too long to piece it together... And although they this virus didn't force them to stay together he thought it would be a good idea to see him in person. He could at least make sure Feliciano was ok.
So he took more care with his string and set some Valentine's cookies out on the living room table. Hey, even a single man could enjoy the holiday treats. Feliciano could be showing up at any time.
