...or, "GATISS, HOW DID YOU KNOW WHAT I WAS TERRIFIED OF AS A CHILD?!"
As a kid I was terrified, I mean, absolutely terrified that I was going to get sucked into floor or under the ground. I'd read some book of "unexplained mysteries" that featured a story about a guy crossing a field in full view of his family, when he seemed to just disappear, but his family swore they could hear his voice coming from the spot in the ground where he'd disappeared. Seriously, for ages after that I was completely convinced that I going to get swallowed up by the floor or the ground. Ground, obviously, was the worst, but it could happen with floors, too, I was convinced. Maaaaaan, you don't even know. (Or maybe you did, if you heard me shrieking during that part in tonight's episodes.)
I am still terrified of lifts.
