The small matter of the Master getting sucked back into the Time War does sort of come to mind.

Them doing skience together. Swordfighting. Marriage proposals. Not-at-all-Freudian dreams about each other. Bondage. "Get out of the way."
4. What makes me sad about them:
That possibly they could have been gay married in space all these years if it hadn't been for the Drums of Rassilon.
5. What moment I wish had never happened:
The end of Planet of Fire, maybe?
6. Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
The Doctor I multiship with pretty much everyone, ever, just because, well, it's the Doctor, but he's not exactly the settling down sort. To understate things rather a lot. And the Master managing anything with anyone outside of a Doctor-connected plot is, let's be honest, not happening.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeee :). And yes. I tend to agree with these. *nods fiercely* Love your choice of screenshots, too--I was just saying to versaphile how those power shifts in their relationship are always such character porn moments and so essential to them (we are writing a major kinky power shift scene in Persia at the moment). That whole fucking scene in Utopia was just so, so kinky and basically had them in a nutshell, so it was a pretty good way of re-introducing the Master to the new viewers.
