Just remember, things could always be worse

Today's cheery subject line brought to you by the poor woman on the playgroup forum whose mother...how shall I say this? Oh yes, whose mother is a blithering idiot who utterly lacks the common sense the universe gave to little green apples.

This poor woman's dad has a carotid artery that's 90% occluded and her mom made an appointment that's not for three weeks. The woman is quite sure that her mom didn't give the nurse all the information and made it sound like no big deal. Her mother has informed her that "there are multiple arteries in the neck, so this might be nothing to worry about."

My mind boggles. Literally. I mean, I could be wrong about this, but I know two guys that had arteries that weren't even that occluded, and they had surgery within days.

Speaking of fathers and health, my father went in for another prostate biopsy, so I've got fingers crossed, because...well, I think it's obvious. And the poor guy is still recovering from shingles. ::pats daddy on the head::

Avi and I are still two or three weeks behind on Torchwood, so I'm hiding my head in the sand to avoid any season finale spoilers. For once I'm totally unspoiled, so I think I'd like to stay that way. Hopefully we'll catch up this weekend, since the only thing on the schedule is a birthday party on Saturday afternoon.

family, health, torchwood
