I hear a rumor it's some Hallmark holiday or something. Here is an actual conversation from last week:
Avi: By the way, you're not getting anything for Valentine's Day.
Me: [stares at him] What in the seventeen years we've been together do you think would lead me to believe you'd get me anything? I mean, really?
Avi: [can't decide whether to be offended or not]
Today my parents came and were not annoying. I went and was headshrunk. We had a nice lunch at the Vegetable Garden. I set out for playgroup.
Halfway up 270, the check engine light in my car came on. "Oh well," I thought, "I've got a cell phone and the weather's not too cold. If something happens, I can always call someone to come get us." I whipped out the cell phone to call Avi. The cell phone pointed out that it had absolutely no power and shut itself down.
At which point, I decided that discretion was the better part of valor and came home. Avi came home and brought out the gadget that lets you check for the error code, and the error seems to be a misfire in a cylinder, so no emergency. ::shrug::
We watched more Avatar, which is good. Yael is still awake at 10 pm, which is bad.
