I liked this episode a lot. I would have loved it if the preview hadn't somehow made it seem like this episode was going to have some love triangle stuff in it. Was it just me or did other people get that impression? It's possible that I imagined it.
Anyway, even though the plot wasn't that suspensefull, there was enough fabulous character stuff for me to have a wonderful enjoyable time. OMG, Christina Cox and Kyle Schmid had Too Much Fun playing the Norman versions of their characters. I covered my eyes during the scene with Norman!Henry and Vicki. And I was bouncing up and down squealing during various other scenes.
Great Vicki/Henry stuff, of course. That first scene nearly killed me with amusement. Heh. I love Vicki's oh-so-subtle avoidance. ::snort:: This is why I love her. And "A man has to eat." "Yes, but you don't have to play with your food." was perfect. I can't wait to see what happens next between them. Whenever they deign to show us more episodes, of course.
Coreen remains hilarious. "How's that working for you?" and "Do you know, I was happy when I came in here." (or whatever that line was).
Oh, and I was interested in Mike leaving the two of them alone at the end. That was obviously on purpose, and I have to wonder what Mike was thinking. (And from the Doyle perspective, what the writers were thinking.)
My interpretation (totally stream-of-consciousness here) is that what Kate said really hit him hard and he's torn. He loves Vicki, no doubt about that, but it's killing him to see her with Henry and he feels out of his depth with the supernatural stuff. He really doesn't know what to do. He loves his job almost as much as he loves Vicki and he's afraid that chasing her around is going to lose him his job.
So, new episodes in September? October? Meanwhile I guess I just have to reread the books for inspiration :D
