Always start with a joke, right?

Patient: Doctor, doctor! It hurts when I do this! [lifts arm]
Doctor: So don't do that.

::rimshot::

So yeah, orthopedist visit this morning. Now he's wondering if in addition to the calcification (which is so obvious that Barak could easily identify it in my x-ray) I might also have a tear in the rotator cuff. This would be bad, methinks.

Anyway, once my insurance company approves it, I'm off for an MRI. Whee. Or to put it another way, we are not amused.

Meanwhile, I'm supposed to be resting my arm and shoulder. By a show of hands, how many people here remember how well I dealt with being on bed rest during pregnancy? ::looks around:: Yeah, that's what I thought.

This isn't as bad, of course, because obviously I can walk, but still, it eliminates most of the household chores I need to be doing. Well, I can vacuum if I can force the kids to pick up the toys. But sweeping? Bad. Laundry? Very bad. Cooking Shabbat dinner? Yeah, that'll be fun. Emptying the dishwasher? It can be done one-handed. Most of the time. Until I nearly drop a plate and automatically jerk my left arm up to catch it. (::coughs:: Not that I've done that. Twice in a row. Perish the thought.)

And there's the fact that three kids in Barak's class have been diagnosed with strep and he's not feeling well. Sigh. Well, if we have to hit urgent care this weekend, then so be it.
