Yuletide

I probably shouldn't have signed up for Yuletide but...even when it stresses me, it makes me happy too. So yeah, there you go.

I'm writing in a fandom I've written before, which is good. And it's a small canon that I can probably review in a few days if I put my mind to it. That's also good.

Of the not quite as good is the optional details. They're not horrible, like asking for death and destruction and angst or anything, but they are looking for a pairing I'm not thrilled with. *However*, and this is a big factor, I've got the option of writing the pairing before the people in question met the people they're paired with in canon. That helps a whole lot.

It also helps that this fandom doesn't really lend itself to anything explicit, even if I thought I could manage that. And I've written pairings I don't care for before, so I've got some practice. Actually, I've even done it for Yuletide (although not for this fandom). (I wrote SAJV Phileas/Jules for someone one year.)

It can be done, is what I'm saying. I just have to figure out my approach and I really need to review some of the later canon, which I seem to recall has some extremely pertinent details to what happened to the characters before the series started.

On an unrelated note, one of my nieces just called because her dad said I could help her with a paper on Oliver Twist. I have no idea why he thought I could help! I wish I could help but I only know the very smallest amount about it. ::shakes head:: Sometimes Fishmans really confuse me.
