I may not be the best person to ask about what's active, because I myself am only active at TheForce.Net's Jedi Council message boards and here. :p But the 'ship is certainly alive at the TF.N boards, and of course we hope people will post more Mara fics (which are often L/M fics as well) here, too. :)
I don't know how much L/M fanfic you've found and read, so I hope you'll pardon me if I list links here you're already familiar with, but I remember looking for L/M fics when I was very new to fanfic and how frustrating it could be and how gleeful I was to find a new story, so I made a list of links for you.
JC Fan Fic - Beyond the Saga - There's TF.N's fanfic board for stories set after RotJ, where most L/M obviously take place, timewise. However, there are occasionally L/M fics on the Saga board as well; there's a link to that at the top of Beyond's page.
L/M story index - This is a discussion thread for the L/M 'ship on TF.N's Fan Fiction Resource board, and on the first page it has a reasonably comprehensive index of L/M stories that have been posted to the JC boards.
TF.N Fan Fiction Archive - There are fewer L/M stories here, but most of them are pretty good. The advanced search feature makes it easy to find stories with specific characters.
Club Jade FanFic Archive - This is an older archive, but it has some classics of the 'ship. I personally adore the story 'Stuff', but from the reactions I've seen, it tends to be a love it or hate it story, so you may not share my opinion. :p
deaka's story list - I'd definitely say deaka is one of the best L/M writers out there. Everything she's written is worth reading, imo.
obaona's fan fiction - obaona is another excellent and prolific L/M writer; I think all her fics are archived or linked here.
rynne's SW rec list - I think that most of the L/M stories linked in this list are probably also mentioned in at least one of the other links here, but not all of them are. She also linked a number of good non-L/M fics there.
I hope the links help you find new reading material. :) And of course, if you write any Mara stories of your own, I hope you'll post them here. :)

I'm so pleased to find "Stuff" again! I'd read it many years ago when it was first posted, and there's still a ratty old printout of the last chapter from way back when in my file folders (was it posted to fanfix.com??) Heh, nothing on internets ever dies.
If I get the writing bug for this pairing, I'll be sure to post, provided the fic meets comm guidelines. Some things I write are genfic, some... aren't. ^_^; Thanks again!
