Opinion please

Sorry not the story yet, but I am working on designs for my SteamCon III costume.  The theme is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  I am thinking of doing a mermaid, but not the sweet Disney Mermaid, more like the Siren that will sweetly drown you if you get to close.  I've got some inspiration pictures, what do you think?

Maybe use something like these ( http://cgi.ebay.com/BULK-LOT-CELLULOID-GUITAR-PICKS-58mm-ASSORTED-COLORS_W0QQitemZ200405583597QQcategoryZ621QQcmdZViewItem ) for scales? Trying to figure out how many I would need. Depends on if I use them for the whole tail or just the fins.

I really like all 3 of the black skirts & I think they'd go well with the whole 20K Leagues Under The Sea motif. Also really like this one.
