Augh! Budgets!!!!
So Klaus and I did the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University about a year and a half ago (or was it two?) and we've struggled off and on with keeping ourselves in check and budgeting and the like. With this new move to New Mexico, we're forcing ourselves to live by our budget and it's completely frustrating! Not that we have any less money now than when we weren't budgeting, but I just feel so completely restricted.
Since Klaus got paid today I went to the bank, pulled the money and alotted it into the appropriate areas. I did my grocery shopping and despite my best efforts to cut things out that I would have normally splurged on, shopped the grocery papers for the deals/coupons and planned my purchases, I still ended up $15 over budget for the groceries. Now, while $15 is not a big deal for most, it's leaving me feeling completely defeated. I know that it's just a matter of fine tuning and tweaking a bit more and that no one gets their budget right on the first (or this time 2nd) try, I still feel un-accomplished (is that a word?). March should prove to be better...I just have to keep telling myself that.
