Wrapping Up The Disney Recap

Oct 15, 2007 14:35

I'm frustrated with myself for not getting this done sooner since we've been back from Disneyland for over a week now. It is starting to seem silly and moot to make an entry for every day we spent at Disneyland so I am going to make an lj cut and shove it all in there. Hayden is refusing to nap today which is also frustrating and makes me want to just get this done with. I am too stubborn to not write about it though since I am a dork and took little notes while we were on vacation.

On the third day of Disney... We went to breakfast at Ariel's Grotto and got into the park early. It was a princess breakfast and we treated it like my mom's birthday breakfast, she got a princess birthday bucket. Was a nice breakfast, good food and Madison and Hayden loved the princesses. Hayden was such a little pimp. Later in the day we went on Grizzly River again for Madison, well make that three times in a row for Madi and me. After the final ride we were drenched and had to go back to the hotel room to change. As we were going back to the hotel there was an old man lying on the ground outside California Adventure. Paramedics were attending to him, I hope he was all right. We watched the parade that evening too, kids loved it.

Disney Day 4: I hadn't mentioned yet but the whole time we were down in CoCal Jason had been talking to Marcos who was a student his mother sponsored into the US. Jason thought Marcos would come by and say hey to us while we were down in Anaheim but that didn't happen. Instead Marcos thought Jason, the kids and I would just drive up to L.A. to see his family. In fact Jason had Marcos call ME about this crazy idea because Jason can't just say no. Honestly, it is just really rude to take a vacation with family just to ditch them and go see someone else. Jason didn't get this until I lectured him for an hour on it.

We spent most of the day in Fantasy Land since Hayden hadn't gotten to go on many rides thus far in our trip. He had the time of his life and we wound up with some nice wait times in line. Hayden drove on Autopia but fell asleep in line for the Nemo subs and missed out on those. The wait was only half an hour though, probably the shortest wait while we were there. Then we spent some time over at the Big Thunder Ranch and Woody's Halloween Round-up.

Disney Day 5: This was our last full day at Disneyland and Jason and I used it to see a few things we had on our want to do list. We saw the Golden Screams show, which was cute but not spectacular. Then we took Madison to see Turtle Talk and I'm so glad we did. It is such a cute little show. Then we went on a few rides we hadn't been to yet like the Maliboomer and also rode a few of our favorite rides a few more times. That night we went to Space Mountain and the ride broke down just before we got into the cars. Madison bawled her head off because she wanted to go on it. Luckily we got fast passes because it broke and came back when it re-opened to ride. After we had the kids bathed and in bed that night Jason and I took a walk to Downtown Disney. Everything was closing though but I was just glad to get away from my mom for a bit. She was starting to drive me crazy with her attitude. Anyhow they were having Mickey's Halloween Treat so we got to see everyone in their costumes.

Disney the Last Day: We got to the park at opening and took the kids to see the Jedi Training Academy show because Madison had requested to see it. We thought she wanted to participate but she threw a fit when we tried to get her to volunteer so she just watched. It really was a fun show though. Then we ran over to Peter Pan and took the kids on that ride. That was the last thing we did in the parks but we headed to Downtown Disney to Build-A-Bear before going back to the hotel and heading out. We got home about 9pm.

Now on Friday my parents had planned on relaxing and sight seeing around the area but they got word that their house and been broken into (this is Emily related) so they had to leave immediately. It was upsetting for the kids and I am mad as hell at Emily doing drugs again and getting herself arrested. But sigh that's not my issue to deal with.

That's about it, I have to run to grab Madison from school!
