The old lady with the cats
This weekend while we were driving past a parking lot, we spotted a kitten eating some tossed out trash. I stopped and really thought the kitten would run before we got close to it. Not quite... she actually ran to Codi to be picked up.
I tried not to get attached and even drove her to the pound Monday to drop her off. Turns out the pound is closed on Mondays. So I took her back home and decided to take her back on Thursday when I was off. Yeah... instead I ended up taking her to the vet for vaccinations. First the vet did a leukemia test because he thought her bad breath and bad gums were a sure sign. Turns out she just has really bad gums.
Her tail is very short, the victim of some kind of trauma. And her tongue sticks out sometimes which he says means she's got some nerve damage possibly from a hard shot to the jaw. Maybe she got clipped by a car at some point? She's very friendly, so she doesn't seem to have been abused.
Also turns out she's not a kitten but possibly 2 or 3 years old. WTF? She's no bigger than a 4 or 5 month old kitten!
So here I am again with another cat. And I really didn't want one! Tho she is a lap cat and I really miss Keeko.

Oh, and she loves riding in the car. Rode on the dashboard like a pro. And yes... this is after we'd pulled out of the parking lot of the pound. Joke's on me I guess.
