To fic or not to fic?

I dug around my hard drive and found a Tony Stark fic languishing there. It's over a year old and has just sat there for nearly that long. The problem is that I don't feel that I'm competent enough as an editor to edit it myself, and I can't seem to get and/or keep a beta. They seem to run away after a couple of emails. I'm thinking the fic is just too damn big. What would you expect from Tony Stark, right? ;)

Anyways... tomorrow and the next few days will probably be massively boring at work, so I've emailed the files to myself and I may print and edit and then start posting it in chapters. I guess if there's editing errors, then they'll be pointed out to me. Hopefully I've learned enough from ralkana over the years to not make a complete fool of myself. No "panting breasts" or "lovely young window" will make it through. (That first one is someone else's but the second was very nearly my posted mistake!)

There is one part of the fic at the very end that needs a little more polishing, but considering the length of the fic... I'll have time to do that. Otherwise, the fic is DONE. I hate those unfinished fics that send me tumbling off a cliff into limbo and I never get an ending out of the author, and I won't post anything that isn't finished. I'm both snobbish and scared that I might not finish the fic for some reason. Never tempt the gods of fic!

Why am I telling you all of this? Because I'm still tying to convince myself to edit and post the fic. And you're helpless captives of my friends page. *big grin*

I haven't been writing anything for sometime because of my lack of confidence in my editing skills, maybe if this works out well, I'll get back in the groove.
