There are definite benefits to dating a culinary student, the one I enjoyed last night was a free 8 course meal at "Upstairs on the Square". It contained many things I had never had before, and a few little personal treats. Unfortunately nice restaurants make me nervous, so I spent much of the time being quiet. That taken with the way I was dressed caused everyone to assume I was the younger brother. But still it was fun, I had foie gras for the first time, and tempura softshell crab, and an exciting dessert sampler, and other frightening delicious things. Then the manager decided that we looked like poor students, and so he paid for our meal, and we got a tour of the kitchen. It was so awesome. However, next time I do something like that I plan to dress appropriately.
