Searching for SGA stories? Some tips.

ETA: Updated July 2010. Added LJSearch, changed a bit of text, added more text, reordered sections based on current usefulness.

sgastoryfinders is a great, great resource. I love it very much. In fact, I get a notice every time someone makes a new post. (I'm not a stalker, I swear.) Yet, I've never had to make use of this resource. And you know why? Because I ( Read more... )

There's also Crossroads, which in my experience is where most of the fics are found after an sgastoryfinders request has been made. The only downsides to it are that sometimes it's down and there's no search function on the site so you have to dig to find what you're looking for.

True, true. I wish it wasn't down as much as it is. S'why I didn't include it, but it's a good place to look, too.

Thank you so much for the pointer to the new LJsearch; it's already come in handy for me!

And Woolsey/Kavanagh, oh, um, wow... (Though I confess to using Caldwell/Kavanagh in my SGA readers guide example of why I like it if -- please, pretty please -- people informatively title their search posts.)

Oh, I didn't know about the noticeboard comm or LJSearch. Excellent; I always feel sort of lame and like I come off as lazy when I post to storyfinders. Thanks!
