Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Matt is actually pretty short if we're going by official heights. He's only 5'7"-5'8". He's got a pretty average build, not too skinny, with the exception of those uh. very girly hips.
2. How old is he? Well over 400-500 years old but he looks about early 20's
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? He carries himself well for the most part. He'll slouch sometimes but he has a habit of straightening up the moment someone important, like England, is in the room (because its mommy.) He likes to tuck his hands in his hoodie pockets and slouch like a teenager.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? He's in pretty good health, SC-wise. Matt's been taking fairly decent care of himself. He probably should back off the maple a bit or he'll get fat like Rise says he will.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Quietly, awkwardly. Like a tipsy mouse if that makes any sense at all. He can be very clumsy but usually only when he's trying too hard not to be.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? He's actually pretty attractive. America is shown to be pretty nice looking, and the two of them share faces. He's a little more on the cute side though, his face is rounder. How he sees himself in the mirror is a combination of "Oh that's not so bad" and "This isn't anything special" but otherwise he doesn't think too hard on it.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Fairskinned, though in SC he's gotten a noticeable tan. There are hideous tan lines where his sleeves usually are. If he takes his shirt off you'll probably go blind.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. His hair is blondish mostly that fades kind of into a redish hue towards the ends. It's wavey and thick and very nice and silky (you can thank France for that) He takes very good care of it, yes. He keeps it cut kind of short, it falling a bit past his ears.
9. What color are his eyes? They are a very pretty, vibrant violet.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? He has that unruly hair curl that sticks up out the center of his part. It's impossible to tame. Rise plz to not be cutting it.
11. What are his chief tension centers? Proobably his shoulders and his brow. He keeps a worried face almost constantly so....
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? He likes to dress casual! His favorite is a hoodie and some comfy jeans or shorts. In the summer he likes flip-flops. In SC he's had to modify this a bit. Its now a very light fabric short-sleeved, hooded not!jacket and a short-sleeved shirt. Sometimes shorts. He likes reds and whites in his clothes.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? He's very comfy in them! Comfort is what's most important. They fit well, specially if those jeans of his accent his hips.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? Nope! When its important Matt will wear a suit and it will be nice and neat with only small hints of sloppiness. In the restaurant he'll probably have a perpetual half-apron on that will be filled with order books, pens and straws.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Boxers. All about comfort.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? His voice is quiet! Not all whispery like in the anime (I disregard the anime as canon okay) but just not quite as strong in volume as most other voices. His voice tends to come off very gentle without sounding too girly. Its a good middle in between high and low.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? He talks very soft and evenly. Not too fast but not too slow. Unless he's riled up, then he'll stutter and flail over his words. He can be very hesitant too, if he's uncomfortable with the situation or if his shyness is butting in.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? He doesn't have that much of an accent! Most definitely not the stereotypical one, at least. Its very subtle and probably only noticeable if you look for it. He'll say 'eh' but very rarely and usually as an exclamation. Same goes for 'Maple'.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? He speaks both English and French fluently. He knows a few other languages but just barely. Mostly stuff to get him by in whatever country he's visiting.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? it depends on who he's talking to.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? It depends. Sometimes he has to think, if the situation is serious and others are actually looking to him. Other times his words come pretty easy.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Both! he can be eloquent but then if he's flustered or riled up he can be very inarticulate. (looks at Rise.)
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? He's pretty smart! He's worldly, he's been around for a long time, and he's watched the development of the mordern world. He's pretty good with technology, but not an expert. He's also the farthest thing from naive.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? He can if he's in war-mode, but other times he needs a moment.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? He thinks logically, usually. Unless he's been set off then he can be very emotional and impulsive. He can be idealistic and he likes to hope for the best but he knows when to be practical.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Nothing formal, but he's had a good few centuries to figure things out.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? History! Anything to do with Canada. Being a diplomat and a mediator too if that counts.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Introverted most of the time. He will try the extrovert thing once in a while, though.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Very even and calm. He's the picture of patience. That is until you set him off. If you do, be ready for a three hour rant of every one of your short comings and faults. Seriously he'll never stop unless someone stops him. DON'T GET HIM PISSED OFF.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? He can be really shy, but he's still really friendly and very approachable.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? React
10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Flight probably, but will fight if he needs to. If he's at war, he'll fight.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? His sense of humor is very dry and sarcastic. But in a quiet way that no one will get it at first. He can appreciate humor but not at his expense.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? uh. does narcolepsy count?
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? Coming to Death City. Meeting Rise. Meeting his shadow. The Adachi fight.
Canonly, I would say WW1 pretty much told everyone that he existed by kicking ass and taking names. 1812 was a big one too, there's a bunch more but I'm not going to list everything.
14. What does he fear? Losing his family, losing Rise. Being a disappointment to Arthur and losing his trust. Letting the other nations down. Losing himself upon return to his homeworld. Dying is up there too.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations? To win the war, to be the best country he can for his people. Keeping peace, helping others. Making the best goddamn pancakes for Rise.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? The shadow event pretty much ruined that for him. If he had something, it would be that he kind of likes being human.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. Not bad! Both England and France are very important to him. His biggest fears are losing them in some way. He can't bear the thought.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? Ahaha he's got a bunch. America is his closest and their relationship is uh. Funny sometimes, but all in all they're about as close as close can get. His other siblings are all far away from him but he gets along well with them.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? Nope!
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? People that he's met at Death City. He's pretty much adopted the entire investigation team. China is also very important to him but its unlikely he'll actually tell him just because China is uh. well. China. Souji is also like his lil bro. No objections.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Rise! Also Cuba. He met Rise on day 1. She was the first person to talk to him and she also tried cheering him up about the situation. Cuba is his bro and they met by Cuba beating him up but its all good. Cuba has booze and ice cream.
6. Does he have other close friends? Lots! But i'm not going to list them.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? Invisibility aside, he's a very easy person to talk to. He makes friends easy when he's in Death City since people notice him. He's just. So pleasant.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? FFFFFF BOTH? Probably family though.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? Never married. America tried that once but he got cockblocked.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Uhhh not yet. um (looks at Rise)
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? FFFFF probably one of his brothers. His recent? Uh. Rise.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? Someone who notices him (obvs) and won't forget him. Really that's pretty much a good enough start for him.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? Do provinces and territories count? Noooope.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? Alfred probably counts as a rival. ADACHI CAN GO DIE IN A FIRE-- oh wait.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? He's a 3 on the scale without a doubt. He's openly bi and he's not really too afraid to talk about it. Asking him might make him feel awkward but that's just because its a weird personal question to ask someone.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? He likes sex! But its not important to him. He doesn't need it to function and he's ...probably gone a long time without it. Uh. Ahahaha sob.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? .....uh. Well. This is all strictly head-canon but he likes crossdressing roleplay in the bedroom. UH. Also he's a fan of being the submissive bossed around one. Unless its America.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? His western sign I think fits him really well.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? He really was when he was younger and it varied depending who had custody of him. He's not quite as religious as he once was, but he does show up in church once in a while.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? He's a peacekeeper. He believes in fair play and non-violent solutions. No, he's a seriously good guy.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? He's tolerant and pretty open minded.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? Nothing specifically in canon I guess America probably counts. Historically I might find something but I'd rather not bring something like that up in my playing for the sake of other people's comfort.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Comfortable! Death City does pretty good. Him opening his restaurant will definitely bring some cash in though.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? Well, he's pretty high up there, being a country. Its been knocked down to normal human since he's been in Death City, and that's quite a shift. He's pretty okay with it though.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? He has several homes back in his world all over Canada that he shared with his polar bear. In Death City he's got a nice apartment with Rise at Death City Heights that has people coming and going.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? Saving for his businessss. Also maple.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? He's a veil technician for Shibusen. He's Ambassador for the countries and future owner of Northern Lights. He's a busy guy these days.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? Hockeeeyyyyy, eating, sleeping, being pranked, notes notes notes, checking the network, sleeping, training, peace keeping, sleeping. uh,....
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? He likes to eat! And he's a big fan of breakfast items. He'll uh. Poor maple syrup in just about everything he eats. He'll drink a little every once in a while, usually with friends. He also rly likes coffee.
