Writer's Block: Pecking Order

I'm the first child of three.  In many ways this has made me feel a sense of almost motherly responsibility for me younger sisters, almost a "third parent" in some respects.  Maybe it's made me braver because I always felt like the protector, maybe not, it's hard to say.  I think the oldest usually get it the hardest from their parents, because parents have the most resolve the first time around.  By the time they reach the third child onward, they get really slack on disclipline.  My family has always been really laid back though.

Middle children do have that "middle child" complex though, I find.  I'm not sure how or why that is though.  It could be because they don't have the distinction of being the eldest or the baby of the family.  My sister is very bright, but she's just never been very confident when trying new things.  The baby of my family is definitely the baby.  I love my sisters very much though.  They're both brilliant and great and differnent things, which is nice, so you can enjoy different things about them.
