Battles

I was in a bit of a state yesterday when I was thinking about all the problems with the ALTS and the new JETS. So it seems that Kanagawa is again SLOW off the mark. I told them to speed the process up but they seem to be stagnating. It is so frustrating!!! (2 more months, 2 more months!!!)

My little battle with my supervisor was solved today. When I came in he asked if I would be around, then at lunch he said that I would only teach 3 classes. So I guess I won. But at what cost?

Which brings me to the issue of Apathy amongst the ALTS. I hear from a few of them when I stated the situation and I was happy for the support. BUT what is disturbing is that the rest don't seem to care. I think that they assume that this problem is "someone else's" and not theirs. I guess they really do not know how the world works. You can either stand up and be counted or fade into oblivion. Right or wrong, I think we need to stand and be counted. What happens today will affect all our tomorrows.

You know, every week I deal with problems with the ALTS and I take them personally. I try to see things from their perspective even if I don't agree with them. It is not my job to agree or disagree but to do my best to help. I am not sure if becoming so involved is a GOOD thing or a bad thing.

Had a great salmon dinner with rice and veggies. YUM!
