The Lover's Dictionary, by David Levithan

Seriously, everyone, GO FUCKING READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW. I read it in about an hour-long sitting because it is wonderful, and depicts relationships in a) a way that I can relate to so perfectly and b) such a poignant manner. It's done in dictionary, non-linear-timeline format and though that may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is totally 100% fantastic.

Some excerpts:

catharsis, n.
I took it out on the wall. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU. YOU FUCKER, I LOVE YOU.

elegy, n. [one of the longer entries that I've excerpted further]
We have fallen through the surface of want and are deep in the trenches of need.

motif, n.
You don't love me as much as I love you. You don't love me as much as I love you. You don't love me as much as I love you.

AUGH DAVID LEVITHAN IF I COULD WRITE LIKE YOU OH MY LORD OH MY LORD OH MY LORD
