When I was in Pennsylvania two weeks ago, my husband found a kitten outside of his parents house. It was stuck in a tree and crying. He managed to coax it down from the tree in the middle of a pretty wicked thunderstorm.
The kitten is now living with my in-laws. He doesn't have a name yet and thankfully, my father-in-law vetoed my mother-in-law's request to name him "Smokey".
They're away in Key West for the week so we've been checking on the animals. My grandpa let me borrow his external flash that I bought him two years ago for his camera and I'm still trying to learn how to use it. For those curious, it's the Canon Speedlite 430 EX.
The pictures are about 800px wide, so you'll need to click them to get the largest resolution.
Using an external flash is super tricky and I'm still battling with it. It's great and easy in some situations, but in others, the discoloration is almost ridiculous. It's a learning experience and I'm having fun trying to figure it all out.
I would not be opposed to taking a side job that involved taking professional pet photos. I love taking pictures of animals. I like to capture people, too, but candidly. The posing thing is just not my style at all.
In other news, I'm attempting to write again. It's only been over a year since I've written anything... talk about cobwebs. It's nice, though.
