I totally forgot about LJ when updating various online fora for
National Coming Out Day, but better late than never, eh? First, just in time for the day,
Connecticut's Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry. Second, in case you missed the memo, I'm queer. Writing about Coming Out Day made me realize that, having moved in to a new place, there's now the awkward, "Should I explicitly come out to them or just mention it if it comes up. Maybe I should just pick up a copy of
the ubiquitous lesbian kiss poster for my room ;) (I'm mostly joking anyway, but actually, I actually I still don't quite know where in Israel I'd go to get a copy) . Seriously, though, as trite as it feels to say it as such, openness and self-acceptance are good. In a different way than
