Ok, now that I am not foaming at the mouth anymore.
The closing has been postponed until next Wednesday, which was the original contract date anyhow.
Basically it goes like this:
There is a dead guy on the title and the other person on the title is not capable of making legal decisions, the kids have power of attorney and sold like 6 other properties for their parent(s). Our closing agent saw no problem, the selling agent saw no problem, our buying agent saw no problem and the seller's lawyer saw no problem (so he went out of town.) The underwriter for the title company, however, saw a problem. He wants the seller's lawyer there in person, no alternatives. So now we can't close till the other lawyer gets back.
I don't know what the plan is now.
What I know is that the plumber can not put in the water heater until next weekend, but he doesn't know which day yet. I know that next weekend is christmas weekend and I suspect most people won't be available to help. So I suppose if anyone who was/wasn't available who won't/will be available to help us move Saturday could let me know, that would be great.
