i think everyone on my FL who did this has had Stranger In A Strange Land on their lists as well.

obviously i know people with good taste.

Well, I think the key to the question is UNEXPECTED impact. There are a lot of books that were major, but no one at all would have expected that out of ,i>Stranger. Heinlein certainly didn't.

I'd have to say Stranger, but also perhaps Snow Crash?

I can agree with that. Someone else on my F-list said that one as well.

My thing is the word unexpected. I mean as influential as Neuromancer turned out to be, Snow Crash would be slightly less surpriseing. But definitely a good answer! I personally thought Snow Crash was the more profound book of the two.

I guess it kind of depended on which one you got to first :) I loved Snow Crash. Neuro not so much.
