On the backs of our ace (Webb) and timely hitting from Stephen Drew, who got the D-Backs on the board, and Mark Reynolds wins it with a homer. D-Backs win Game 1, 3-1.
I'm STILL kind of scratching my head on why Piniella yanked Zambrano that early...it didn't seem like he was doing that badly. I'm pretty sure he's regretting that now, because Marmol came in and promptly serves up the Reynolds homer, then a walk, a double to Augie f'n Ojeda and a sac fly from Conor Jackson.
That monumental screw up aside, this was a relief in a number of ways. Winning the first game is always important in a short series. And now, all the pressure is on the Cubs...and we all know they don't deal well with that sort of thing.
One more thing, I would like to give that asswipe behind home with that flashing sign in an attempt to distract Valverde repeated kicks to the groin. And people wonder why Cubs fans have such horrible reputations.
So, suck on that one 'experts'...the D-Backs are up 1-0 in the series *sticks out tounge*
