Writing again
Someone sent me the NICEST thing - it didn't cost them a cent, but it sure made me feel great. It was a review of something I wrote several years ago, telling me how much they liked it. And when I went back to read it, I realized ... it really was pretty good. ~_^. So ... I think I'll take the next few months and finish it. I was really happy with those original characters I created, especially this grizzled spacer named Dron. He was forever wanting to drink and shoot people.
I never realized how much I wanted, or even needed, someone to tell me they liked my work until I saw this. Words of encouragement are food for the creative soul.
(I'm also taking this opportunity to reread the story and cut a lot of the unnecessary prepositional phrases and whatnot from it. I'm nothing if not a perfectionist. )
