I'm geeky enough to be happy when a study validates what I've seen and experienced - but this one is just a great big headslapping "d'oh!" Note that the bolding and italics are mine.

Yeah, there are things worse than unemployment, especially if your boss doesn't respect you and it erodes at your sense of self.

I can't believe you would be criticized for your age. In many parts of the world, age is respected as a sign of maturity and experience. But we can be a pretty brash and foolhardy as a nation, so that sort of attitude is common here is not surprising.

I'm glad this article got published in such a major paper. Many people (mostly men) are not even willing to consider that gender bias exists. It's sad.
