Me: We leave for Britain in 12 days, but that's all set so our focus is all about right now or when we get back. The house, the garden, wedding reception, work. It must be SPRING...well, ok, in less than 3 weeks.
Recent Adventures: Bookfair, as I mention before, was great. Hung out with archeologists on Friday including a former prof from the boy's days at UofS. The Prof was at the dinner/AGM to present a talk on Paleopathology - why did people die so long ago. While there was a bit of CSI to it, the really cool part was realizing how much these local discoveries have made a difference in archeology elsewhere. Plus I got to play bartender for 5 hours. On Sat, I performed cleaning magic on our bedroom; Literally top to bottom, Vacuum, dust, window cleaning, getting rid of stuff , washing curtains, killing only a few lady bugs in the process - not as delicate as you may think. Sunday was all about laziness.
The Farm Yard - Melty. Really, really, in the "possibly beyond gross" way need to clean up the dog's area. The boy took down the xmas lights, planted tree seeds and I made plans for renting sod lifter and planting the beer garden (it's not just for beer anymore)
The Farm House: Still need tuck tape for the office reno. Still dreaming of the day I move in there. Main floor got a good shine on Friday, just in time to mess it up again this weekend with repotting etc. We obviously do not sit around watching tv often enough.
The Farm Animals: They totally agree the statement above. The nice weather is a signal to beg & misbehave. Guinness & Muse? That's expected. Sabastien is jumping up on everything. Dresser, dryer, martini bar, Just coz he can. I'm tempted to leave the upper floor windows open just to see what happens. Oh wait - I found that out a few years ago.
Reading Watching Listening: The stereo system has been playing a lot of jazz, blues & civil war tunes. In the Esplanade video exchange, we got a few episodes of the 8th series of Spooks, I'm pretty much hooked. My current book, Drink, has ventured into modern history. I may be finished it by the time we leave.
Thinking on: Just taking in the goodness, friends, sunshine, laughter. Cunning plans..
SCA: Y'all who attended investiture have been tres quiet! I should like to hear more! Still, from all accounts I'm fairly happy with how things went in my absence. Only had one little panic over pels meeting which I count as a win. Will be making some fun trips next month though. Part of this weekend, coz I can't just sit there and watch tv or listen to the radio was spend scanning past Avacal Seneschal files. LET ME TELL YOU FOLKS! I am amazed!!! at how much stays the same and glad at how much is different.
Work: 2 weeks til holidays - 2 months til sales conference in TO (skeldergate demo or lady mary that's the question....) 3 months to year end. Still lots to do.
Upcoming: England...spring...
