Yuck. Ah yes, the lovely smells of the crime scene. I have a very cool book of stories by police officers, and one section talks about things they do to minimize smells. Like putting coffee grounds in a pan on the stove, or wearing masks with perfume in them... or putting cotton balls soaked in perfume/lotion up their noses. The sterotype of "wagon men" smoking big cigars comes from the fact that a lot of them did to keep the smell of the corpses from bothering them.

Once again, great story... I'm enjoying this whole thing quite a bit.

On my computer at home, I have a police discussion board bookmarked and the section on how to cover up the odors. One recommended vicks vapor rub rubbed under the nose. That's also where I learned bodies can liquify. I didn't know that before before I started writing this story.

Glad your enjoying it.

It's fascinating, although gross, stuff. I certainly could never be a cop, but I have a lot of respect for the vast majority of the people who do.

Febreeze has to be a godsend for these people...
