Yes, indeed, three deaths in one night is too much of a coincidence. And that topic will be addressed in the next chapter by another detective (can you guess who? ^_^).
Oh--my--gosh. You said "angst fest", and dang, you were right!
This is both terrible and beautiful at the same time because it combines horror and murder with deep, pure love. No matter who killed the three women, it was clearly out of a vendetta; I agree with yamipenguin about it not being the Org, though, since they rise from the shadows, kill, and leave no trace . . . well, unless they've got nothing to lose since they're already destroyed. Everyone's very much in character, too, making quite lucid your blend of warmth and agony. Fantastic job! I assume you're saving Ran's death sequence for last, as is fitting.
I agree on yamipenguin's and your characterization of the Black Org. Under normal circumstances, they were very much to the point and kill targets, not do a roundabout job of things. Considering all circumstances that the story takes place in, humans are very strange creatures and most people can tap in their sadistic side, right? At least, that's what I think.
Your point definitely makes sense. I mean, if the Org's now impotent, what would hurt their captors more, killing them outright or letting them live while killing the ones they love most?
I was hoping to get that across. I'll reveal more info later, but I believe the best way to hurt someone is to destroy what they hold dear and make them live with it before finally getting rid of them yourself. It's cold and cruel, and almost seems like an emotional superiority tactic; it just makes sense.
Yeah, it wasn't the Org. The Org wouldn't be that incredibly STUPID. Killing the girls is the best way to ensure that you have three grieving, vengeful, VERY UNHAPPY predators looking for your heart on a silver platter.
I do agree; the Black Org. is very smart and swift on how they deal things. However, I hope you stick around to read the future parts; as the story progresses, more will be explained little by little. Hopefully, everything will make sense when all the truth comes out.
