Well I've been about reading and commenting.. I decided it was time to post one of my own ^^
Title: A Prudent Theif
Author: Fyliwion
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Adult Situation, Minor cursing
Size: 376 Words
Spoilers: None
A prudent thief should never drink so much that he becomes bold.
Because a thief who boasts and brags will rarely live to grow old.
For silence is a thief's best bet and if he breaks this etiquette.
Undoubtedly what he will get...will be more trouble than gold.
~A Prudent Thief~

The morning sun was just beginning to peak through the window when Kuroba Kaito felt himself jerked out of a particularly nice dream.
One where he actually got to hold Aoko in his arm’s instead of provoking her into a chase with a mop.
One where he was able to tell her he loved her.
He let out a sigh and was about to open his eyes when realized something-
He wasn’t alone.
The young man froze as memories from the night before rushed through his head.
The heist, Akako’s birthday party, Akako handing out refreshments, telling Aoko he‘d take her home-
Hesitantly he opened his eyes knowing in his heart what he’d find.
That he’d be met by beautiful sleeping face of the woman he loved... his best friend...
Nakamori Aoko.
Oh God... it wasn’t a dream.
His heart rushed with jubilation, but his mind raced as he tried to remember what had happened. Most of it still fuzzy from whatever damned additive Akako had decided the punch needed.
That's when he froze, his damned memory reminding him of something-
No.. I wouldn’t have. Even if Akako did something to the punch I wouldn’t have been that stupid-
He felt a chill go through him as he quietly moved out of the bed and grabbed for the phone as he moved to where he wouldn’t wake the sleeping girl, but still could watch her-
“Moshi mos-”
“Jii?” he barely kept the strain from his voice.
The older man replied worriedly, “Young Master? Is something wrong?”
Kaito’s voice shook as he said quietly, “Jii... I think I proposed to Aoko”
He was met with silence and he slipped into a chair looking at the ring that rested upon the young girl‘s hand...
“And she said yes.”
There was silence on the other end, and then the older man said tiredly, “You didn’t tell her did you?”
“No Jii.. I couldn’t...” the thief buried his face in his hand finally defeated.
Disclaimer: I do not own Detective Conan or its characters... Nor do I own the title or Song.. that belongs Cindy Vanous and the Brobdingnagian Bards who brought the song to music ^^
I'm Fairly certian this was inspired by quite a few of the other ff authors out there who have written fics with aoko/kaito drunk... too many to list ^^ but Its been plaguing me for awhile so I got this out.. At some point I wish to make it longer (give the background story) But I believe it stands well alone as a small ficlet.
