The L Word
Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.
My letter was L:
1.)Lyrics- In my journal, I keep a list of songs and their lyrics that mean something to me at that moment. For example, my latest one I listened to alot when one of my good friends stopped wanting to hang out with me. Also, I think alot of my dad when I read it...Anyways, lyrics are a way I express myself. When my dog died, I looked up lyrics to songs that I could listen to.
2.)Love-"Love is my greatest fear in life. It makes me feel so scared, and I think that I have fallen into its merciless grasp. What do you call that feeling, where every time the phone rings you pray it's him? Every heart throbbing note that is extracted from the stereo reminds you of how his eyes always had this funny way of meeting yours at the perfect moment. Every gush of wind that flows through your hair reminds you of his gentle voice. When every thought that crosses your mind, dreams, nightmares, all have him involved in some way. And yet, no matter how angry you are at him, you can never stay that way. I pray every night that this feeling that has me in an uncontrollable bliss; I pray that its name is not love. For someone bigger then I could protect me from monsters and creatures under my bed, but who can protect me from something that does not live."
3.)Life- Great board game! :) Good times with good friends playing life, and getting made fun of how much I suck at it.
4.)Lesson- You can learn a lesson from anything, anyone, anyplace you go to. They are all over the place, and hopefully you will learn that lesson.
5.)Learn- This word makes me think of my job and how much I love learning about the 20 kids I work with everyday, and seeing them learn how to be a citizen, a friend, a family member, and a peer.
6.)Letters- Its nice to recieve an email, nicer to recieve a phone call, but the best is an unexpected hand written letter.
7.)Loopy- My friends think I am loopy, and you know what? I wouldnt have it any other way. I feel the most alive when I am acting weird and unexpected. They are just going to have to live with my loopiness :)
8.)Light- My mom taught me as I was growing up to look for the light in other people. It has served me well, especially when I am in the beginning of a friendship or all alone.
9.)Laugh- The best thing in the world is a good laugh. I hold it higher than love even, because it has the power to turn a day rightside up and it will make you live longer.
10.)Lock- Lock makes me think of security, which is something I need a lot of in my life, thank you dad. Rolls eyes.
