Post 10 random facts about yourself, and pick 5 other people.
I've been tagged a couple of times, and I don't want to crash the party, so:
1. I just woke up from a nap because I'm charging up for going out tonight.
2. I forgot the name of that enzyme or something in Turkey that makes you sleepy, but it really does.
3. I started Slaugherhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut yesterday, and I'm almost through with it. I don't read a lot (though I need to), but this is the most immersing book I have read since The Perks of Being a Wallflower. And it's so well-written.
4. This lady that helps me out with applying for colleges and scholarships wanted me to take all the contractions out of the essays that I wrote, but I flatly refused. She told me that it was "formal writing" -- which technically it's not because it's all in first person -- but taking out contractions would totally destroy the voice. I mean, I don't talk like that! And at every single college visit I've been to, they've said not to be all stiff like that. She says that contractions sound too informal and get in the way because they make everything harder to understand, but what does she read? Instruction manuals?
5. I pretty much hate TV except for football games, and even then, I don't watch football that much. I love movies though. I probably won't get cable when I'm older until my kid's can't stand it.
6. Abby Richburg is coming back on Saturday instead of Sunday. That's a "random fact about myself" because she still needs to hurry up. She's in Opp, and all there is to do there is watch TV and play with the cats (she forgot her book).
7. Wilco is my favorite band. I need to buy their new live CD, Kicking Television, and you need to too.
8. When I was napping, I had a dream that part of Briarwood (the High School) was turned into a dance club.
9. I'm excited about Christmas coming up ... the whole season and the expectation and stuff.
10. I hardly ever wear jeans, but I'm wearing some right now, and they're a good pair.
